"Manifestations" Soon to hit Stores
By Linda A. Annan

manifest M.anifest 's solo debut album Manifestations set to be released this Spring is another creation depicting the progression of African pop-culture in the West. This 13-track record is packed with a blend of African beats and contemporary Hip-hop rhythms play ing to well-constructed poetic lyrics. Manifestations looks promising and qualified to compete with other successful records.

The album features tracks in which M.anifest crows about his African heritage in both Twi and English. In “Gentleman” collaborated with Hip-hop/Hip-life artist Wanlov, he defies the qualities of an English gentleman and proclaims he is an “original African man” who prefers to eat with his hands because “it is better than samosa or meat pies mixed with cinnamon.”

In another African-centered track he switches to a Hip-Hop monotonic version of the American spiritual folk song, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and says: “If I die when I go to America, make sure to bring my bones back to Africa, made in Ghana we're laid in Ghana, rest my soul next to my grandfather.” Though his theme resonates that of the original song and is also entitled “Swing Low,” it rings with sounds of African instruments.

Tracks like “Easy Does it,” “She Lives,” “Set me Free,” “Change Gon Come” and others are of much lighter themes though they still hold realistic messages that reflect his experience.

Manifestations is in its final stages and should be released in a couple of months; keep looking out for it.
