Meet the incredible team at Obaasema
Tricia Ferdinand is a Trinidadian born Editor/writer at Obaasema; she holds a BA in Communications with a focus in Global Journalism from Drexel University, and a MA degree in English Literature at the University of Delaware. Her interests include reading, traveling and journalism, and she is also a member of both the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) as well as the National Association of Caribbean American Journalists (NACAJ). Tricia has a passion for writing, the art of storytelling and culture, and plans to pursue a PhD in Folklore.
Oludele Botchway is a contributing writer with a bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics and English Literature and resides in Hamburg, Germany.

Gifty Kwakye is a health writer at Obaasema; she is a third year student at Yale University School of Medicine in Connecticut and has an undergraduate degree in joint Biology and Psychology from Yale. Her interests include comedy, photography, cooking, advocacy work and African crafts.
Pietra Dunmore is a fashion writer at Obaasema and a model, clothing designer, licensed hairstylist, make-up artist, writer, and photographer. In addition to working as a model with such established companies as CBS network, Target, Heineken and many others, her clothing line Retrochic By Pietra is carried in two Philadelphia stores, and has been touted as "Best of Philly" in the City Paper and "A-listed" in Philadelphia Weekly. As a hairstylist and make-up artist, Pietra has worked on the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football cheer and dance squad, former Miss Pennsylvania 2002 Autumn Marisa, and 2005 Miss Pennsylvania USA Brenda Kaye.
Pietra has a bachelor's degree in Photography and Creative Writing from Drexel University, and is presently pursuing a master's degree in Creative Writing.
