AfroFlow Rhythmically Positions
the Continent on the map
By Linda A. Annan

afro flowSteeped in beautiful African melodies and uplifting lyrics, AfroFlow can be labeled as one of the most inspiring Hip-hop albums out today. It does not echo your usual testing-and-trying-to-make-it-happen records; instead it presents sounds of masterful instrumentals and substantial lyrics.

Mike-E describes AfroFlow as a movement and the record speaks for itself.

Though jammed with conscious expressions it holds appealing elements of head-nodding feet-tapping body-moving beats with tracks like “Aleho (U Lovin' Me)” and “Get Into This,” the latter opening up in a Nigerian language, somehow displaying the concept of AfroFlow .

And then there are “Eye See U” and “ Ethiopia ,” which is already a hit song in Ethiopia , and “Call Us By Name” – all either uplift people of African descent or speak against the negative light in which Africa is normally exposed.

As a first official release this album does well in presenting Mike-E as a good rhymist; the flow of his lyrics – no pun intended – displays a certain level of artistic maturity rarely seen with debuts.

This 17-track record is currently available at afroflow.com and all his live shows. Check Mike-E's site for tour dates.
